NuMex Lota Lutein-(Capsicum annuum)-The NuMex Lota Lutein pepper was developed by New Mexico State University and was released in 2020. It is a selective bred Serrano type that ripens to yellow. Yellow chiles and other yellow vegetables are high in the nutrient Lutein which is an antioxidant and carotenoid. These nutrients have been shown to be good for eye health and reduce risk for degenerative diseases when eaten regularly. The NuMex Lota Lutein chile has a smoother burn than the typical serrano and also more of a citrus sweet flavor tone when ripe yellow. The Lota Lutein chile plants grow over 4 feet tall and are extremely productive. They are great for salads, fresh salsa and sauces. 10+ Seeds
