Aji Ecuadorian Orange-(Capsicum bacattum)-The Aji Ecuadorian Orange pepper is a medium to medium high pepper heat chile. It has very fruity sweet flavor tones. They come from the rainforest region of Ecuador and are used in fish and poultry dishes. Peppers are about 2 inches in length and almost an inch in width at the stem. They taper off to a rounded point at the end. The Aji Ecuadorian Orange chiles ripen from green to a bright orange. They take a little time to get producing but once they start they put out quite a bit of peppers. The chiles are good for sauces, fresh salsa and pickling. The Aji Ecuadorian chile plants grow over 5 feet tall and require staking for support.
