Description
Ancho Durango-(Capsicum annuum)-The Ancho Durango pepper comes from the Mexican State of Durango. In 2020 a customer of mine who is from that region sent me some seeds as a gift. I lost the letter and if I find it will edit this description and add his name. Durango is the home state of the famous Pancho Villa. A good deal of the land has very high mountain terrain as part of the Sierra Madre Mountain range runs through it. Also, Durango was the filming place of many old Western movies including “The Good, Bad and Ugly, Magnificent Seven and The Wild Bunch. The Ancho Durango pepper is a medium size Ancho Poblano type that ripens from green to red. Usually it is roasted or stuffed while green. As it ripens red the heat increases to a mid-jalapeno heat level. While ripening it gets a sweetness not common with other Ancho types almost fruity. The Ancho Durango chile plants grow over 4 feet tall and will need support or staking. 10+ seeds
