Black Hungarian-(Capsicum annuum)-The Black Hungarian pepper is grown for both ornamental and culinary usages. It is a beautiful Hungarian Heirloom that produces purple flowers and fruit that ripen from green to dark almost black purple. If left on the plant it will finally ripen to dark red. It is similar in shape and size to an average Jalapeno. Flavor is more rich than a jalapeno but has different flavors at each color stage. The Black Hungarian chile is very prolific and will reward you with lots of peppers. They peppers can be used in sauces, salsas, salads, stews, stir fry and also stuffed appetizer poppers. The Black Hungarian chile plants grow just over 3 feet tall.
