Chile De Arbol Purple-(Capsicum annuum)-The Chile de Arbol Purple pepper is used mainly for seasoning like other de Arbol peppers but has more of a fruity sweetness than the others. It’s origin is unknown The Chile de Arbol Purple chile ripens from purple to red and averages about a quarter inch in width and 3 inches in length. They are similar to Cayenne as they have a quick upfront heat. They are used as a seasoning for salsa, soups, stews and all purpose seasoning. They range in heat from 30,000 to 60,000 Scoville units depending on growing conditions. The Chile de Arbol Purple chile plants can grow 3 to 4 feet tall.
