Chocolate Jalareaper-(Capsicum chinense)-The Chocolate Jalareaper pepper is a cross that was created by grower Jack Skaggs of Ohio. It was created in the early 2010s by crossing a Carolina Reaper with a Jalapeno. We must also note that Jack created the Ghostly Jalapeno and the Jalabanero during that same time. The results of the initial breeding were twisted red chiles that were extremely hot. However, some growers when growing later had brown appear. Now because of their efforts selecting we now have the Chocolate Jalareaper. One of these growers is Jes Christiensen of Denmark who provided me with these seeds in 2024. The flavor is smokey sweet if you can get past the searing heat and burn. This is not an early bearing variety. But it will come on strong with production towards the later part of the season. The Chocolate Jalareaper chile plants grow over 5 feet tall. 10+ seeds
