Petenero Peppers
This variety comes from the jungles surrounding the Peten Lake area in Guatemala. Over 26 Mayan ruin sites are in this area so we can assume this was a pepper cultivated and used by the Mayans when they existed. It has a nice sweet flavor and produces lots of pods. It has average habanero heat. The Petenero chile plants can get over 3 feet tall.
”At Refining Fire Chiles we isolate our seed production plants to avoid cross-pollination with other chile species. If you want to grow your own chiles, you can purchase seeds right here, or full plants (April-July) and have fresh chiles by September.
