Pimenta De Neyde-(Capsicum chinense)-This is a rare natural cross of an unknown Capsicum annuum and Capsicum chinense variety from Brazil. It has more Capsicum chinense characteristics so therefore will fall into that species category. It is named Neyde because that is the name of the woman who discovered it. It has a good heat below habanero level and kind of nutty in taste. The Pimenta De Neyde chile plant fruit ripens to a deep black purple and stays that color. Normally peppers that get this color eventually finally ripen to a reddish color. The leaf color is slightly purple as well. Plants can grow over 4 feet tall. It has a very unique flavor unlike any other chile I have ever tasted.
