Dominica is a country that is full of mountains that lies southeast of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea. The cusine is creole with many spicy dishes that include chicken, fish, rice and beans. The Red Dominica habanero chile is used to add both heat and flavor to these traditional dishes. The chiles ripen from green to red and average about 2 inches long. Like many habanero types from this region you will sometimes see some grooves of folds in the outer skin. The flavor is fruity but not overly sweet and the heat is medium to high habanero level.
