Targu Mures-(Capsicum annuum)-The Targu Mures pepper is a very rare small hot Paprika type from Transylvania. Found close to the Carpathian mountains which is the origin of Dracula. Named after the Romanian city of Targu Mures which is known for its rich cultural diveristy and influenced heavily from its neighbor Hungary. It is located on the Mures river and also has the nickname “City of Roses”. The Targu Mures peppers are about the size of an average Serrano pepper, but the heat level is close to a Cayenne. The Targu Mures peppers ripen from green to red. Traditionally they are dried for seasoning powder but also can be used for sauces or stir fry. The flavor is rich with fruity tones.
