Tecoyero-(Capsicum annuum)-The Tecoyero pepper comes to us from Guerrero, Mexico. Like other Native heirloom chiles this is vanishing due to commercial crops taking the place of older Native crops that have been around for hundreds of years. The Tecoyero Chiles grow pointing up sometimes in clusters and resemble a large chile Pequin. They average about 2 inches in length and taper off to a point at the end. The Tecoyero chiles ripen from green to red and are used in sauces, fresh salsa and seasoning powders. Research finds no mention of the name Tecoyero or it’s meaning. These chiles were sent to us dried from our friend Ubaldo Solario who obtained from someone in Guerrero. The heat level is hotter than an average Jalapeno and the flavor is smoky fruity. The Tecoyero chile plants grow over 4 feet tall. 10+ Seeds
