Mako Kokoo-(Capsicum chinense)-The Mako Kokoo pepper comes to us from Ghana which is in West Africa. It is the hottest pepper in all of Africa. The people of Ghana love incorporate chiles and spices into their cooking. The Mako Kokoo chile is an elongated pendant chile that is 3 to 4 inches in length and an inch in width. The chile narrows down to a narrow blunt end. The Mako Kokoo pepper ripens from green to dark red and has a high level of habanero heat but is not considered to be superhot. The chile has fruity flavor tones with a little smokiness. The Mako Kokoo peppers are great for a hot sauce, salsa or seasoning powders.
