Maldivian Heart-(Capsicum chinense)-The Maldivian Heart pepper comes to us from the nation of the Maldives. Also known as the Republic of The Maldives pronounced “Maldeeves”. The Maldives are a small group of Islands that are in the Arabian sea of the Indian ocean. They lie southwest of Sri Lanka and are known for some of the most beautiful white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Even know they are so far from the Caribbean you can also find many dishes made there with yes, Scotch Bonnets. They also love to use the chiles to flavor fish and rice dishes. Since they are close to India, they use chiles in curry dishes too! The Maldivian Heart is a very off shaped habanero type that is similar in flavor to Scotch bonnets. They can get as large as a golfball and they ripen from green to red. The flavor is fruity, and the heat is same as a hot habanero type. 10+ seeds
